Katherine Zoepf

Katherine Zoepf was a fellow in the Better Life Lab at New America. She was also a 2012 Bernard L. Schwartz Fellow with the New America Fellows Program. She is the author of Excellent Daughters: The Secret Lives of Young Women Who Are Transforming the Arab World. Zoepf organized a series of events and discussions on women's issues, Broadly Speaking, which were held in New America's New York City events space. Zoepf lived in Syria and Lebanon from 2004 to 2007 while working as a stringer for the New York Times; she also worked in the Times's Baghdad bureau in 2008. Her writings have appeared in the New York Observer, the Chronicle of Higher Education, the New York Times Magazine, and the New Yorker, among other publications. She is a graduate of Princeton University and the London School of Economics.
