Join us virtually to celebrate the launch of Better Life Lab’s newest, groundbreaking report out on Oct 24th, A Playbook to Transform How America Cares: The Care Movement’s Winning Tactics, Lessons, and Case Studies from the Pandemic Era and Beyond, written by journalist and Care Reporting Fellow, Katherine Goldstein.

Of the many things the COVID-19 pandemic revealed about our society, it showed us clearly how we care for people, who we care about, and why supporting care is more critical than ever to families and the economy. And though the federal Build Back Better effort failed, activists and advocates from all around the country have been chalking up some impressive wins for the care economy. Join us to hear some of the exciting highlights from this solutions-oriented report that offers a practical playbook focused on eight successful tactics and case studies. The goal of this report and event is to help people working on different care issues across the country chart a collaborative path forward with the goals of supporting and elevating care. 

We warmly invite policymakers, activists, business leaders, care workers, philanthropists, media, cultural influencers, and care consumers who are interested in being part of the burgeoning care movement to join us for this event.The 1-hour virtual event will feature:

• A call to action from Ai-Jen Poo, the President of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and the Executive Director of Caring Across Generations.
• A presentation of some surprising findings from report author Katherine Goldstein.
• A panel discussion and Q and A featuring a few of the 40 leaders interviewed for the report, including Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, CEO of MomsRising, Minister JaNaé Bates, Communications Director of ISAIAH in Minnesota, Rochelle Wilcox, a child care center owner, and the co-founder of For Providers By Providers, a Louisiana-based Early Childhood Education advocacy group, and Sandy Moreno, a caregiver and union organizer with United Domestic Workers in California.
