Special Operations Policy Forum 2018

About the Event

New America, the Center on the Future of War and the McCain Institute of Arizona State University (ASU), the Global SOF Foundation, and the Daniel Morgan Graduate School of National Security are pleased to extend to present the Special Operations Policy Forum on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, beginning at 11:45AM. The focus in 2018 is on “U.S. Policy for Proxy Warfare.”

The purpose of the invitation-only forum is to convene senior U.S. government leaders, leading academics, and national security policy professionals on how to confront the unconventional threats facing Special Operations Forces and how the U.S. military and U.S. government should respond to these threats. These questions extend beyond the purely hard-power and kinetic contexts and into the use of soft-power and the provision of SOF in support of foreign nations’ forces. New America, ASU, the Global SOF Foundation, and the Daniel Morgan Graduate School are privileged to work together on this project and see this as a first step in advancing U.S. SOF policy for the future.
