This catalogue of open resources is designed to help civic leaders and community organizations encourage a peaceful, constitutional election process. These materials have been compiled by a bipartisan group of civil society leaders working under the auspices of the Uphold Our Democracy initiative. We hope these articles, training tools, and communications resources can help communities across the United States apply global best practices as they navigate an unusual and challenging election period. We encourage readers to submit additional resources that can further these goals.
On September 1, 2020, Tomicah Tillemann of New America and Nilmini Rubin of Fix the System convened a bipartisan group of foreign and domestic policy experts to apply global lessons to the challenges surrounding the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election. Participants in this meeting formed the Uphold Our Democracy Initiative to continue sharing resources, activating networks, and strengthening U.S. democracy, election systems, and institutions.
