[ONLINE] - LSX Summit 2022

Unusual Collaborations = Learning
Event

How do we give children opportunities for active learning, cultural exchange, and interactions sparked by curiosity and questions, especially as media and technology become even more embedded in their lives? Fascinating answers are emerging from the Learning Sciences Exchange, a groundbreaking fellowship program testing a new model for collaboration and transformation. LSX, as we call it, brings together small teams of talented people—unknown to each other, from different parts of the world and in different sectors—who collaborate on new approaches to learning while also learning from each other at the same time.

Join us on August 10th to hear the stories of these LSX Fellows who hail from the fields of entertainment, journalism, social entrepreneurship, education policy, and the science of learning. After working together for two years, remotely across multiple time zones and only once in-person, these LSX fellows will share their ideas and reflect on what it takes to break out of one’s bubble. We welcome discussion of your reflections too on how LSX can grow and spread this model of cross-sector collaboration.

This biannual event features keynote remarks from NPR education reporter Anya Kamenetz (author of The Stolen Year) and our panel moderators Brenda Jones-Harden of the University of Maryland, Marisa Gerstein Pineau of the FrameWorks Institute, and Jessica Sager of All Our Kin. It culminates with the announcement of our next cohort of LSX fellows: 15 mid-career innovators from seven countries now part of an ever-growing network, rippling outward yet also bringing change and innovation back to their own communities, all based on the science of how children learn best.
