NSF Awards Grants For CHIPS, Tech Workforce, And The Future Of Work

In a new article for Forbes, Shalin Jyotishi discusses the U.S. National Science Foundation's (NSF) latest awards, the Enabling Partnerships to Increase Innovation Capacity (EPIIC) and the Experiential Learning for Emerging and Novel Technologies (ExLENT) programs. The awards will expand support for community and technical colleges providing workforce training related to emerging technologies.

This summer, the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) announced two sets of awards to expand support for community and technical college job training relating to emerging technologies and industries– the Enabling Partnerships to Increase Innovation Capacity (EPIIC) and the Experiential Learning for Emerging and Novel Technologies (ExLENT) programs.

Since the passage of the CHIPS & Science Act of 2022 and the creation of the Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships Directorate, NSF’s first new arm in over thirty years, the federal agency has doubled down on its funding workforce development for emerging technology fields.
