Apprenticeship has emerged as a promising potential solution for states and school districts grappling with teacher shortages and the need to diversify the teaching profession. Newly launched programs such as Tennessee’s Teacher Occupation Apprenticeship program and Iowa’s Teacher and Paraeducator Registered Apprenticeship Grant Program have generated a lot of enthusiasm, but just as many questions.
