Mei Fong, Eric and Wendy Schmidt Fellow, spent her fellowship completing her book about the effects of China’s one-child policy, One Child: The Past and Future of China’s Most Radical Social Experiment, published in February 2016 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Previously, she taught at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School and worked for over a decade as a foreign correspondent for the Wall Street Journal. She won a shared Pulitzer Prize in International Reporting for her work on China, as well as awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and Society of Publishers in Asia. Fong is a graduate of the National University of Singapore and has an M.A. in international relations from Columbia University.
