New America’s Family-Centered Social Policy program (FCSP) is thrilled to announce that Greg Kaufmann has joined our team as a program fellow.
Greg brings with him over a decade of poverty reporting, most recently as founding Editor-in-Chief of TalkPoverty.org. Previously, Greg was the poverty correspondent for The Nation where he wrote his weekly column, “This Week in Poverty.”
During his fellowship, Greg will lead FCSP’s Poverty Reporting Project. Over the next year, he will report for The Nation on the emerging Poor People’s Campaign which is now present in 40 states. His reporting will focus on the organizing and ideas of people with low-incomes and community-based organizations; as well as poverty solutions and the elected officials who are pursuing them. Greg will also examine poverty and solutions in the District of Columbia, where reporting and public awareness are woefully inadequate. Finally, Greg will work to lift up ideas from scholars, policy professionals, and others that could make a real difference in the lives of people in poverty.
Keep up with Greg’s work by following @GregKaufmann and @NewAmericaFCSP, and by subscribing to our newsletter.
