New America is pleased to welcome the Rt Hon Amber Rudd, U.K. Home Secretary and Member of Parliament for Hastings and Rye, for a discussion on these and other topics.
The Home Secretary will be joined by Kevin Bankston, the director of New America's Open Technology Institute; Joshua Geltzer, an ASU Future of War Fellow at New America and previously the senior director for counterterrorism at the National Security Council staff from 2015-2017; Evanna Hu, a technologist and founding partner at Omelas, a cutting-edge tech company that automates, quantifies, and integrates workflows in the online information environment, including the prevention of online radicalization and recruitment and CVE expert with 6 years of fieldwork in the EMEA region and Afghanistan, having worked on neo-Nazism and Islamist violent extremism as well as counter-terrorism issues; Mary McCord, senior litigator from practice, Georgetown University Law Center's Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection and former acting assistant attorney general for National Security, U.S. Department of Justice; and Jason Pielemeier, policy director, Global Network Initiative.
