Marla Wilson joins New America as Vice President of Development and Partnerships

Washington, D.C.—New America is pleased to announce that Marla Wilson has joined New America as vice president of development and partnerships. Wilson has dedicated her career to transformational initiatives that support equity, diversity, and inclusion for under-represented groups to advance socioeconomic equality. 

Wilson brings extensive development, marketing and sales experience from both the public and private sectors. Most recently, she served as the executive director of the STEM Careers Coalition at Discovery Education. Previously, she has worked as a development executive and development consultant for national nonprofits and for a private family foundation. 

In her role at New America, Wilson will provide strategic direction for New America's fundraising and partnerships efforts with a focus on building a more robust and diverse development program in support of our mission.

Wilson joined New America on June 6, 2022. Originally from Las Vegas, Nev., Wilson holds a bachelor of communications from the University of Central Oklahoma where she studied broadcast and print journalism.
