2015 was a landmark year for climate change: it marked both the warmest year on record and the advent of a new global climate pact in Paris. 2016 has started out no less eventful, with the Supreme Court's stay of the Clean Power Plan, the centerpiece of the Obama climate strategy.
But even if the Clean Power Plan survives, will the United States be able to meet its Paris pledge?
Join New America and the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) on February 24th for a close look at the current gap between climate goals and climate action, and ways that gap can be filled.
John Larsen of the Rhodium Group will present a new analysis of progress toward meeting the U.S. climate target. Then ARPA-E Director Dr. Ellen Williams will join an expert group, convened by C2ES President Bob Perciasepe and New America Senior Advisor Sharon Burke, to explore how technology innovation and stronger action by cities, states and the federal government can help reach the goal.
