Starting in 2022, two former early childhood implementers from New York City convened a learning cohort known as the Early Care and Education Implementation Working Group, a set of city and county birth-to-five and preschool programs that began meeting to help one another expand services quickly and equitably. The group convened monthly to share experiences on various topics and learn from one another and improve and in 2024, the partnered with the New Practice Lab to continue and deepen the group's work. To amplify the impact of this collective effort, we are disseminating the findings from this cohort more broadly, beginning with what we learned about the role of outreach in enrollment and adding content continuously. If you would like to connect with the Working Group, please send us an email at npl_work@newamerica.org.

An illustration shows statistics about the populations and organizations represented by the group: 3.6 million children under age 6, 1.3 million of whom live at or below 200% of the federal poverty level and 613,000 who live at or below federal poverty level. The group also represents entities in 11 states with total early learning budgets of over $1 billion.
