[ONLINE] - Scorecard Toolkit Launch Workshop

Event

Join Ranking Digital Rights for a workshop on how to use RDR’s new Scorecard Toolkit, a key component of RDR’s new Research Lab. The workshop is for researchers and all those interested in the methodology RDR uses to keep Big Tech and Telco Giants accountable. With the toolkit, researchers anywhere can use RDR’s Corporate Accountability Index methodology and standards to design research that helps illuminate their local contexts and the companies operating within them.

Researchers have used our methodology across Central Africa and Southeast Asia, in countries ranging from Ukraine to Iran to Lesotho, and even in New York City. In 2022, LGBTQ rights organization GLAAD released a Platform Scorecard as part of their second annual Social Media Safety Index, which used custom indicators based on RDR's methodology to measure LGBTQ privacy, safety, and expression online.

The new Scorecard Toolkit makes it easier than ever for researchers across civil society to access the tools needed to carry out their own projects. In particular, the Toolkit allows researchers to create the data management infrastructure for RDR-style corporate accountability research, which they can customize to their precise needs.

Mark your calendars now, and join us on April 13 from 9-11 AM as we:
   • Introduce you to RDR’s work and methodology;
   • Look at past adaptations and why we built the Scorecard Toolkit;
   • Help you navigate the new Scorecard Toolkit;
   • Answer your questions!

Facilitators:
• Oscar Montiel | Technology Manager
