Raising the Standard: Bringing Security and Transparency to the Internet of Things?

Event

By 2020, it is expected that there will be  20 billion Internet of Things (IoT) devices deployed around the globe. As more companies release internet-connected devices, it is the security flaws making headline news rather than the potential of these devices to transform our world for the better.

Because of the rise in breaches and cyberattacks, consumers are increasingly worried about how companies use their personal data, resulting in a lack of trust in the businesses. One critical contributor in the campaign to build trust with consumers, strengthen privacy protections, and improve cybersecurity, particularly in the growing IoT space, is the use of independent consumer-technology product testing.

The Digital Standard, a new open source testing system used by Consumer Reports, addresses the maturation of the IoT industry and the need for all stakeholders to collaborate in solving these complex issues.

Join OTI and a group of experts to discuss the role of collaboration in the mission to bring better security, privacy protections, and transparency to the evolving IoT space.

Lunch will be served at 12:00 pm, and remarks will begin at 12:30.
