On Friday, four states joined the lawsuit to block the proposed Sprint/T-Mobile merger. In total, 13 states and the District of Columbia have moved to stop the transaction. This merger would be a disaster for consumers and workers, raise wireless prices, and exacerbate the digital divide.

The following quote can be attributed to Joshua Stager, senior counsel for New America’s Open Technology Institute:

“It’s clear that the momentum to block this harmful merger is growing. States are stepping up to protect their people and their markets from a brazenly anticompetitive deal. We welcome the addition of Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Nevada to the lawsuit and urge the Justice Department to join this strong and diverse group of states.”
