Adriana Stephan

Adriana Stephan is an artificial intelligence and cybersecurity researcher and policy analyst.

She is PhD student at the Oxford Internet Institute currently researching how citizens evaluate LLM systems. She previously served as a program manager at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, leading efforts to mitigate the malicious use of AI to target critical infrastructure. She holds a master’s in international cyber policy and security from Stanford University. Her work has been published and quoted by Lawfare, Georgetown Law Technology Review, Partnership on AI, The Washington Post, and the Associated Press.

As a 2025 #ShareTheMicInCyber Fellow, her research will focus on AI-generated nonconsensual intimate imagery targeting public officials. Her project will investigate how deepfakes are created and distributed, address legal frameworks governing deepfakes, and provide recommendations for defending against their creation and spread.
