Alexandra Ivory is an Impact Coordinator at the Chicago Community Trust. As a member of the Trust's Advocating for Policy Change and Building Collective Power teams, she organizes grant initiatives focused on community organizing, local journalism and storytelling, and resident-designed and driven campaigns. Additionally, she works closely with her colleagues to strategize policy engagement and systems reform that focuses on closing the racial and ethnic wealth gap. Before joining the Chicago Community Trust, she graduated from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, where she received a dual Masters in Social Work and Social Policy. During her tenure at WashU, she was a project coordinator for the Healing Policy Project within the Race and Opportunity Research Lab. Alexandra conducted qualitative data analysis, which permitted her to work collaboratively with community stakeholders and government officials. She has completed internships with former U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill and Missouri's Immigrant and Refugee Advocates (MIRA), where she supported constituent services and lobbied for policy change to benefit immigrants and refugees, respectively. She plans to continue applying her social work and policy training toward advancing economic and social mobility within her neighborhood of Englewood, Chicago.
