Amanda Borquaye is a Legal and Policy Intern at New America's Open Technology Institute. She is currently a master's candidate at Tufts University's Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy where she studies Human Security and Technology Policy. Her interests are in how surveillance border technologies, digital platforms, and information and communication technologies are shaping migrant journeys and refugee experiences as well as the intersections of technology, human rights, and international development. She previously worked as a civil rights litigation paralegal in Washington, D.C. She holds a BA in International Relations and Sociology from Tufts University.
