Amelia Ingram, Research Fellow at the New War Research Consortium, is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Urban Studies at Queens College-CUNY, where she is currently completing a second M.A. in Data Analytics and Applied Social Research. She has actively taught urban studies, anthropology, and media studies in New York City for over ten years. Her current research interests are veterans and social change, gentrification and healthcare inequality, and media and cultural politics.
She previously completed a PhD in ethnomusicology at Wesleyan University, where she received a Fulbright Fellowship to conduct extended fieldwork among the Venezuelan migrant community and on Spanish Creole racial politics in Trinidad and Tobago. She has written extensively on Caribbean music and culture. In her free time, Dr. Ingram performs as a latin percussionist and singer of Motown and oldies music around New York City.
