David Golden

Intern, Digital Impact and Governance Initiative

As an intern with the Digital Impact and Governance Initiative at New America, David is a researcher and civic technologist focused on bolstering the technical capacity of government, improving state-citizen interaction, and building processes for transparent and effective governance. Most recently, he was an Urban Fellow placed at the Mayor's Office of Data Analytics (MODA) in New York City. At MODA, he worked on a variety of projects including building a new Project Portfolio, assisting in internal analytics projects related to COVID-19 and NYC's infrastructure, and helping administer New York City's COVID-19 Recovery Data Partnership. He graduated from Brown in 2019, where he earned a B.A. in History with honors. His thesis was on the relationship between government debt and expansion of public services in Reconstruction Virginia.
