Didi Kuo is a fellow in the Political Reform program. She is a Center Fellow at Stanford University’s Freeman-Spogli Institute for International Studies, and she was a 2018 Eric & Wendy Schmidt Fellow at New America. She is the author of The Great Retreat: How Political Parties Should Behave—and Why they Don’t (forthcoming, Oxford University Press) and Clientelism, Capitalism, and Democracy (Cambridge University Press, 2018). She holds a BA from Emory University; an MSc in economic history from Oxford University, where she studied as a Marshall Scholar; and a PhD in political science from Harvard University.
