Dr. Gabriela Garcia has over ten years of experience in evaluation and research design, qualitative methods, project management, program development, and culturally responsive and equity-focused evaluation. She has extensive experience in leading or co-leading mixed-method evaluations for a variety of federally and foundation funded STEM, health, and education projects. She has a PhD in Educational Psychology with a Program Evaluation specialization from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is fluent in English and Spanish. Currently, she serves as a Community Advocate and Co-Creator at BECOME, a nonprofit organization located in Chicago. BECOME is an innovative movement building organization that boldly facilitates authentic grassroots community leadership and co-creates strategies and solutions to help communities actualize their collective liberation. To that end, BECOME partners with nonprofit community organizations, community members and groups, faith-based institutions, universities, and foundations and provides community engagement, facilitation, community-driven strategic planning, training and capacity building, and program evaluation.
