Hilary Tackie is a higher education intern at New America's Education Policy Program, where she focuses on advancing equity in the transfer admissions process. With her background as a community college transfer student, she is passionate about creating a more inclusive and accessible higher education system.
During her community college years, Tackie served as a student advocate on the government relations committee, working to secure increased financial aid for community college students. Tackie's interests lie in leveraging innovative technologies such as chatbots, virtual reality, and augmented reality to enhance learning experiences in higher education. Prior to joining New America, she worked as a researcher at Cornell's Future of Learning Lab, exploring the impact of technology on classroom learning. Tackie is also the co-founder of a non-profit organization in her home country of Ghana which aims to connect low income youth with mentors and resources for professional development. Tackie is a senior at Cornell University studying Policy Analysis and Management with a minor in law and society.
