Dr. Ian Roark serves as the Vice President of Workforce Development & Strategic Partnerships for Pima Community College. He is the college’s single point of contact for workforce and economic development initiatives. In this role, Ian works with internal and external stakeholders to respond to the workforce needs of businesses and industry and guide the college’s alignment to the economic development priorities of the region and state. He also oversees the Workforce Development Division, which serves over 6,000 students annually in workforce training, certificate and degree programs (including university transfer), and continuing education programs.
With 21 years of education experience, Ian previously served as a secondary-level music and social studies teacher, assistant principal, K-12 administrator, and community college dean. Ian holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Angelo State University, a Master’s of Education/Educational Leadership from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
