Itziri Gonzalez-Barcenas is an intern with New America's PreK-12 team within the Education Policy Program. Itziri is an undergraduate student at Davidson College in North Carolina where she studies Political Science and Africana Studies. At Davidson, she serves as the Student Body President and spends a lot of time in the Admissions Office as a Tour Guide and an Admissions Fellow. Itziri’s research interests primarily center around education equity. Her background as a first-generation immigrant inspires her to research best practices for serving PreK-12 immigrant students.
