Jacklynn Pham

UX Design Lead, New Practice Lab

Jacklynn Pham is a user experience designer & researcher with experience in the public and private sector.

In the public sector, she has worked for the Government of British Columbia to redesign the experience for hiring digital talent into public service, at The Decision Lab to expand access to online mental health services offered through the government, and within the US federal government at 18F to create human-centered services. The majority of her time at 18F was spent working on civil rights or public benefits projects, including leading the project research for civilrights.justice.gov, which helps the Civil Rights Division staff of the Department of Justice receive, process, and take action on over 100,000 online civil rights complaints a year. This involved UX design for the new front-end submission and back-end case management system.

Prior to public service, Pham was a senior interaction designer at Google. She worked on the Android team to extend the platform to smartwatches. There she led app design, accessibility, and contributed to Google’s Material Design system for smartwatches.

She has a background in visual design and has taught communication design or qualitative research for non-designers at Carnegie-Mellon University, Georgetown Law School, and Harvard Law School.

After growing up in Nebraska, Pham has lived all over the US and currently makes her home in the pacific-northwest. In her personal time, she can be found listening to audiobooks, learning something new, or enjoying time outdoors.
