Jermaine Anthony Richards was a Digital Impact and Governance Initiative Research Fellow at New America. He lead research on digital public infrastructure, technology policy, and cyber governance. He aims to identify best practices for using digital technologies to combat global-political, economic, and social risks.
Richards is also a communication Ph.D. student at the University of Southern California (USC), Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. At USC, Richards researches political economy and global communications technologies at the Annenberg Research Network on International Communication, where he specializes in globalization, infrastructure security, and the public interest.
Richards earned degrees from the City University of New York (BS), the London School of Economics and Political Science (MSc), and the University of Southern California (MA). Richards brings previous experience as an interactive, motion, and games producer and technical project manager in the marketing, communications, and advertising industries.
