Jordan Abbott is a Data Manager for the Education Funding Equity Initiative. He uses spatial analysis and quantitative modeling to uncover structural inequalities embedded in, and enforced by, school funding policy. His work explores how residential segregation, wealth inequality, and systemic racism intersect to impact public school finance.
Prior to joining New America, Jordan was a Research Assistant for the Board of Executive Directors at the Inter-American Development Bank. In this role, he contributed to the design and implementation of the Bank’s Gender and Diversity Action plan, a strategic policy framework to promote equitable development outcomes. Previously, he was a student fellow at the Center for Research and Teaching of Economics (CIDE) in Mexico City.
Jordan is a MS candidate in Data Science and Policy at Johns Hopkins University. He holds a BS in statistics and economics, as well as a BA in political science, both from the University of Pittsburgh.
