Julie Brosnan was the senior communications associate for the Education Policy program and the Center on Education & Labor. She supports outreach, engagement, and messaging strategies. With a passion for improving schools nationwide, Julie helps ensure that new and important education research is being heard and understood.
Prior to joining New America, Julie led a social-emotional learning program in Wellington, New Zealand, aiding its communications portfolio and working with hundreds of students in schools across the capital city. Julie also worked on the administrative team for a mentoring and tutoring company for middle school students, as well as for a communications firm in the Washington, DC area, where she worked on education and health initiatives.
She earned a BA in political communication from The George Washington University, during which time she worked with Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-MD), the Chronicle of Higher Education, and the American Association of University Women Lobby Corps.
