Katherine Goldstein is a Care Reporting Fellow for the Better Life Lab at New America. For her 2023 fellowship, she wrote the groundbreaking report, A Playbook to Transform How America Cares. In 2024, she’s collaborating with Fair Play Policy Institute to direct the CareForce, a group of 350+ builders, advocates, funders, storytellers, and researchers across public, private, and social sectors, creating a driving force a driving force in reimagining how we care.
She’s also a speaker and journalist who writes on mothers, caregivers, and gender equity for the New York Times, TIME, Washington Post, Vox, and more. She’s a former Harvard Nieman Journalism fellow and the creator of The Double Shift newsletter, podcast, and community.
She lives in Durham, NC, with her husband and three young children, including pandemic twins.
