Lauren Wessler

Lauren Wessler was a corporate and foundation relations manager at New America. Wessler worked to increase awareness and support for NGOs through fundraising, corporate sponsorships, and high-profile programs and events, both domestically and internationally. Before joining New America, she worked at the political and non-profit strategic consulting firm Helen Milby & Company (HM&CO), where she advised a roster of clients on corporate and individual fundraising, policy-oriented programming, and financial administration. At HM&CO, she ran the Global Women's Innovation Network (GlobalWIN), a non-profit organization that provides a professional forum for women in government, academia, and business who work on innovation and technology policy. Prior to her work at HM&CO, Lauren was the Board Liaison and Executive Assistant to the President & CEO of Vital Voices Global Partnership, an international NGO founded by Secretary Clinton to advance the rights of women around the world. She also worked as an Assistant Editor in the DC office of the Guardian during the 2008 Presidential election and on Capitol Hill for former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2008 with a BA in International Relations and History.
