Leonardo Torres was an intern with the Future of Land and Housing program at New America. He is currently pursuing a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a focus on housing, transportation, and data science. Prior to New America, Torres analyzed the impacts of racial/ethnic population forecasting on transportation equity at Boston’s Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC). He’s also worked in Central Florida as a City Planner and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) intern. He is passionate about using data analytics and visualizations to inform policy and decision-making at all levels of government. Torres holds a BS in Public Administration with a focus on Urban Planning and Mathematics from the University of Central Florida.
