Lillie Heigl was an education policy analyst focusing on disability.
Prior to joining New America, Heigl was an Excelsior Fellow with New York State where she worked at the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities in Employment & Meaningful Community Activities.
Heigl assisted in reworking ADMs and Regulations in employment programs, she collected and processed agency reports and oversaw the committee reforming the Pathway to Employment workbook.
Heigl gained experience as the Eileen Sweeney Graduate Intern in Disability Policy where she worked for the Social Security Advisory Board. She also worked as an intern for the Association of Higher Education and Disability she developed a national survey distributed to law schools about their system for granting academic accommodations and developed a database of information about disability at law schools.
Heigl holds a master’s degree in public administration and a Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University and bachelors degrees in journalism and international studies from the University of Missouri. Lillie is licensed with the Washington D.C. bar.
