Peoria Grow Your Program recruits and supports diverse, qualified teacher candidates from its local community. Linda has been an educator at Peoria Public Schools for over 21 years. She also serves as the Peoria Federation of Teachers Union’s Political and Diversity Director. Linda is a facilitator for the Illinois Teachers of Color Affinity Group Network. The Peoria Teachers of Color Affinity Group serves to build a sense of community and collective power for teachers of color in the Peoria area. Linda was born and raised in Peoria. She is a wife, mother of five and grandmother of four grandsons. In her spare time, Linda enjoys walking the Rock Island trail and researching modern history. She has a passion for advocating for the education, health, and safety of the citizens in the Peoria community.
