Liz Richards is the Founder & Director of the Delaware Cares Coalition. She is a leading expert in passing paid leave policies in the states. In 2017, Liz managed the successful campaign to pass Maryland’s landmark paid sick days law, achieving veto-proof majorities in both chambers. She has since returned to her home state of Delaware, where she founded the Delaware Cares Coalition for paid leave, bringing together over 40 health, faith, labor, business, and community organizations committed to passing a paid family and medical leave law in President Biden’s home state.
Liz currently works for McKenna Media where she has directed winning ads for historic candidates across the country, including Secretary Deb Haaland and, during her year working at production partner HardPin Media, Congresswoman Jahana Hayes.
Prior to joining McKenna Media, Liz started her career at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and worked on Democratic campaigns in New Jersey, Maryland, and Wisconsin. Liz has a BA in political science from American University and is pursuing her Master’s in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
