Melissa Young (she/hers), is the founder of The Intersect a consulting, action, and change firm anchored in the belief that the solutions to our most endemic social, racial, and economic challenges should be driven by impacted people and communities. Over her 20-year career, Young has held multiple senior leadership roles in the nonprofit sector where she catalyzed the development and growth of cross-discipline teams focused on research, evaluation, data analytics, public policy and advocacy, field work, organizing, and innovation to address the root causes of poverty and inequity.
Young's work has shaped the national discussion and awareness of economic justice as a key solution to ending poverty and realizing racial justice. Her expertise has landed her a seat on several national leadership tables, and she's worked alongside a myriad of public and private stakeholders at the local, state, and federal level to advance public policy and systems change.
