Meredith Wadman is the author of The Vaccine Race, about a unique group of cells that are widely used in scientific research and for making vaccines that have immunized hundreds of millions of people. She was a New America National fellow in 2015. She has covered biomedical research politics from Washington for 17 years, writing for publications including Nature, Fortune, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Wadman is a graduate of Stanford University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She began medical school at the University of British Columbia and completed medical school as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford.
