Michael Razeeq is a cybersecurity, privacy, and technology law attorney with a wide range of experience advising and supporting global companies in the media, financial services, and energy sectors, as well as a multinational law firm. Razeeq also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Brooklyn Law School. He is licensed to practice law in New York and Texas, and he holds IAPP CIPP/US, ISACA CISM, and GIAC-GLEG certifications.
As a #ShareTheMicInCyber Fellow, Razeeq is examining the legal frameworks governing civilian cyber corps established in several U.S. states and in other jurisdictions to identify best practices. His research will culminate in the development of a model law to facilitate further development and improvement of civilian cyber corps as other U.S. states consider this form of cyber civil defense.
Razeeq has presented on the topic of cyber volunteering and, specifically, civilian cyber corps in various forums, including the 2024 New America Future Security Forum, the Caveat podcast from the Cyberwire by N2K Networks, the 2024 Cyber Civil Defense Summit hosted by the UC Berkeley Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity, and 2023 Cybersecurity Law and Policy Scholars Conference at Tufts University.
