Mimi Howard is an advisor at School Readiness Consulting (SRC). She works with school districts, municipalities, states, foundations and national organizations to develop strategies and build systems to support families and children from birth through age 8. Mimi has worked both nationally and internationally, focusing on early education issues impacting both policy and practice. Past projects have addressed early education financing and workforce development, prenatal to age 3 systems building, infant and early childhood mental health, kindergarten transition, family engagement, and Pre-K to Grade 3 alignment. Previous positions include: National Head Start Fellow; Director, Early Learning Program, Education Commission of the States; Senior ECE Policy Analyst, University of Colorado; and Consultant to the International Step by Step Association and Global Initiatives at the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Mimi holds an M.S. degree in Early Childhood Development from Colorado State University and a B.A. degree from the University of Colorado.
