Olivia Sawyer is a program associate with the higher education team at New America whose work focuses on public opinion in higher education.
Before joining New America, Sawyer served as a graduate intern with the Democratic Staff of the Committee on Education and the Workforce, where she contributed to federal policy initiatives around college affordability and access. She also has experience with state-level higher education policy, completing two internships at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta during her undergraduate studies.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Georgia and is working toward her master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the same institution. She is driven by her professional mission to ensure that all students, regardless of their background, have equitable access to higher education.
