Richard Dunn, M.Ed., NBCT, works with the Western Washington University Woodring Multilingual Teaching Fellowship Program as a Partnership and Field Experience Coordinator. He teaches, works with program partners, provides professional development for teacher mentors, and supervises student teachers. He has written and presented program models for Grow Your Own teacher certification programs.
Richard taught for 26 years in the Highline School District in Washington State. Teaching kindergarten for the bulk of his career, he has worked with a wide range of wonderful students and amazing educators. He is an author of Read Well K, a comprehensive early childhood literacy curriculum. Richard is a National Board-Certified Early Childhood Generalist and has supported candidates for more than a decade. He is an active member of the Washington Education Association and has worked on teacher evaluation, and early childhood legislation and bargaining teacher contracts. He has supported first year teachers as a peer mentor and as a Paraeducator Pipeline Facilitator for bilingual teacher candidates. Richard lives in Seattle and spends as much time as possible with his family in the great outdoors.
