Roey Ahram

Roey Ahram, PhD is the Director of Strategy and Learning at Grow Your Own Illinois (GYO-IL), where he manages data collection, analysis, and reporting while supporting consortium programs from development to implementation. Dedicated to promoting equity and social justice, he leverages his expertise in research, strategic learning, and program development to help organizations design impactful programs, refine their strategic visions, and tackle systemic challenges in education. Prior to joining GYO-IL, Ahram served as an Associate Program Officer at the Spencer Foundation, overseeing the Small Research Grants Program and facilitating field engagement initiatives. He also worked at New York University, leading projects focused on racial and socioeconomic disparities in education.

Ahram began his career as a high school math teacher and continues to bring a practitioner’s perspective to his research and policy work. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) from Clark University, along with a Ph.D. from New York University.
