Sarah Whelan

Sarah Whelan is an educator with over 20 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and professional development. She currently serves as the K-12 social studies specialist in Alexandria City Public Schools, Virginia, where she previously taught middle and high school history.

She supports teachers and school leaders with providing a meaningful, inquiry-based education in history and social science for a richly diverse student population. Her areas of expertise include project-based learning, teaching with primary sources, and cultivating civic engagement.
