Hao Wu

International Security Program Fellow; National Fellow, 2015

Hao Wu was an International Security program fellow at New America as well as a 2015 National Fellow with the New America Fellows Program. He worked on documentary films exploring the complexities of modern China. He is currently developing a feature documentary on Chinese Millennials' addiction to social media. Originally trained as a molecular biologist, Wu traveled to the Internet world before focusing on filmmaking. He directed and produced "Beijing or Bust" and "The Road to Fame," and produced "Nowhere to Call Home." In the Internet industry, Wu worked in Silicon Valley, with Alibaba and Yahoo in China, and as the China Country Manager for TripAdvisor. He is a graduate of the University of Science and Technology of China, Brandeis University and the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
