With Election Day less than two weeks away, we’re eager to spread the word on where to find good information and about the critical importance of lifting your voice.
We spoke with a few of our fellows steeped in the space about the 2018 elections. They shared their take on the best resources as well as the importance of including local elections in your ballot box decisions.
Below is commentary from three New America CA Fellows as well as our curated list of some of the best voter resources we've seen.

Resources

With Voter's Edge you can enter your zip code to receive customized information on local, state, and federal candidates, measures, and propositions from anywhere in the U.S.!

CALMatters is a great go-to for propositions. It includes short and clear videos that explain them in one minute! The site also has interactive questionnaires.

The San Francisco Chronicle’s guide provides extensive and trustworthy coverage on the ballot measures and races that state and local voters will be deciding.

The KQED voter guide provides brief snapshots for each of the 11 propositions with the "big idea", "pros", "cons", "the way it is now" and "what if it passes?"

A Ride to Vote: Lyft & Uber are providing free/discounted rides to vote! Use the "Get to the polls" button in the Uber app to find a free ride to your nearest polling location.
Important Dates

Check out an interesting read, “The Paper Could Send a Clear Message About the Importance of Voting,” by New America PIT Fellow, Emma Coleman.

We urge you to not only vote in federal, state, and local elections (for individuals and propositions), but also to share the above resources with as many people as possible. Let’s help boost the number of voters and also informed voters!
