The Free Application for Federal Student Aid just opened. Around the country, millions of students who are planning to attend college in the fall of 2024 are completing it in the hope of receiving financial support for their studies. There’s good news this year for parenting students, especially single parents: they will likely see their eligibility for aid increase.
Today 1 in 5 college students is a parent, with the majority being single parents. Going to college is challenging at the best of times, but parenting students must balance taking classes, working, and caring for their children. Being a parenting student is a daunting task, and every little piece of extra support is welcome.
