Top Findings:

  • While only 18 percent of adults without a college degree believe four-year college tuition is fairly priced, 70 percent say earning a bachelor's degree is valuable.
  • Many adults without a degree remain confident that higher education pays off: 86 percent believe a degree pays for itself within 10 years, and students who rate their program's quality as "excellent" are far more likely to see strong career alignment.
  • 58 percent of adults without a degree say a college degree pays off within five years; 86 percent say it pays off in 10 years or fewer.
  • 90 percent of currently enrolled students say the investment they are making in college is worth it.
  • 59 percent of adults without degrees say four-year colleges do not charge fair prices.
