If you’ve been reading the OTI blog long enough, you know that we’re a great place to  work if you’re interested in the world of tech policy. All of our (paid!) internships, fellowships, and jobs offer the opportunity to work on critical tech issues, the chance to work with a great team, and frequent tacos.

A day at OTI is never boring. Whether we’re cheering about our  latest win in the fight for net neutrality or strategizing our next move after a setback for broadband access, everyone at OTI cares deeply about the work they do. And they do a lot—our initiatives range from placing technologists in Congress to protecting consumer rights online.

Beyond the issues we’re tackling, OTI is also a great place to work because of the people. Our team is a friendly, supportive bunch who will encourage you to pursue your own research interests and get your writing published. Our experts have varied interests, with different teams focusing on different aspects of OTI’s mission to promote universal access to communications technologies that are both open and secure. On any given day, you could find someone filing comments to a federal agency, a meeting addressing the latest in the encryption backdoor debate, a team celebrating a new milestone for internet measurement, or an event about the Internet of Things. It’s easy to learn something new every day here because folks are always eager to share the projects they’ve been working on.

If that’s not convincing enough, OTI also understands that a little bit of fun and games are important to getting quality work done. Our office features a Lego table for combating writer’s block, and sometimes staff meetings include games.

If it sounds like OTI is a great fit for you, you’re in luck! We currently have three open positions for passionate, eager individuals just like you. As the OTI Communications Intern, you could support efforts to share our work with the outside world by assisting with content curation, monitoring press, and more. If it’s a full-time role you’re after, as a Communications and Operations Associate for Ranking Digital Rights you could support a research initiative that explores how technology companies should respect user’s rights. Or if you prefer programming to writing, you could work as a Technologist for Open Internet DevOps as a part of our Measurement Lab team.

PS: If you’re the comms intern, you get to spend time writing fun blog posts like this! And stay up to date on exciting tech policy news. And keep track of all the media wins our incredible team racks up. And design beautiful things for print and the web. And...on that note...
