As part of OTI's series on Trump's first 100 days, experts from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), American Enterprise Institute, and Abundance Institute join us in examining the administration's approach to tech policy so far. From revealing which developments have surprised them to stating what they believe civil society should be doing at this moment, our guests share their views on what tech governance looks like right now and what it should look like.

Lilian Coral, head of OTI and vice president of New America's Technology and Democracy programs, hosts the conversation, which features:

  • Neil Chilson, a lawyer, computer scientist, author and head of AI Policy at the Abundance Institute.
  • Shane Tews, a nonresident senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, where she focuses on digital economy issues, and the president of Logan Circle Strategies, a strategic advisory firm.
  • Cody Venzke, a senior policy counsel in the ACLU's National Political Advocacy Department, working on issues in surveillance, privacy, and technology.
